Update - September 17, 2020

In the interest of our community's health and well-being, online classes will continue until further notice.   We feel this is the most responsible decision we can make at this time.

Over the last 6 months, we have learned (and maybe even surprised) that we can maintain our practices and support each other virtually.

Give it a try and join us for live -streamed classes via Zoom with all your favourite teachers at regular class times.

With the start of the Fall schedule we will begin to accept pre-covid passes as a payment method for online classes and also have new online class rates for you to purchase.

Below is our current policy for extensions/reactivations.

Thank you for your continued support during these challenging times.

COVID-19 PASS REACTIVATION / EXTENSION POLICIES - September 2020

With a date for in-studio classes remaining uncertain, we encourage anyone with passes from pre-covid-19 to use them toward Virtual Classes prior to purchasing our new pricing options.

Passes valid at the time of our covid-19 closure and are now expired, must be reactivated and extended in order to use. The extension will be for the duration remaining as of March 8, 2020.   You must contact us to set this up.   Once the adjustment has been made in your account you can use these passes toward virtual classes as well.

No action is required for passes that have not expired.   You are ready to start using these passes for virtual classes and if you think you need more time to use up your passes as you get closer to the expiry date, please contact us.  if required, these passes are eligible for extension up to the full duration the studio has been closed.

At this time, we cannot offer Refunds for passes purchased before March 16, 2020.  Thank you for your understanding.  We greatly appreciate your support and patience at this time.

Temporary Studio Closure - Regular Classes Suspended - effective March 16

Dear Roots Yoga Community,

After a considerable amount of heart-felt deliberation, we have made the decision to suspend all classes temporarily.

We feel strongly that it is our duty, and shared responsibility, to act now in order to reduce the impact and slow the spread of COVID-19.  The well-being of you, our staff,  our families and the entire Toronto Community, is our utmost concern at this time.

We anticipate reopening on April 5th, when other city services are planned to resume, however, we will be monitoring the situation closely and will reassess the situation on a week-to-week basis.

Please rest assured that monthly passes will be put on hold and any missed workshops will be rescheduled.

We are also looking into ways to stay connected with you during this hiatus.  Online classes with your favourite teachers are one possibility, and we will keep you posted with more details as we develop this offering.  In the meantime, it is a good time to nurture your home practice or to check out some of the many online resources available.

We will miss seeing you at the studio and look forward to seeing you there again as soon as we all can!  Until then, please take care of yourself and each other, by practicing yoga and your social distancing!

BE WELL!

Denyse, Meredith and the Roots Yoga Team

IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATE -  As of March 14

We are implementing stricter protocols effective immediately.

With some changes to our normal operations, we hope to continue offering Yoga during this time when everyone really needs it!  We will continue to monitor the situation closely and take additional actions when instructed.  As responsible members of society, it is our duty to follow the government's current recommendations concerning COVID-19...

DO NOT COME TO THE STUDIO, IF YOU:

  • RECENTLY RETURNED FROM TRAVEL ANYWHERE OUTSIDE OF CANADA OR HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO COVID-19, UNTIL YOUR 14 DAY PERIOD OF SELF-ISOLATION IS OVER.

  • FEEL UNWELL, AT ALL

We have implemented the following policies and protocols:

  • LIMITED CLASS CAPACITY  - we are using tape on the floor to designate where mats should be placed.  This is to ensure students are well spaced out and class size is limited to 1/2 our capacity.

  • PROP FREE CLASSES - currently all of our classes will be taught prop free.  No studio props will be available, including mats.  You are welcome and encouraged to bring your own, such as: Belt/Strap, Blanket, foam blocks.

  • NO STUDIO MAT SERVICE - our studio mat service is temporarily suspended.  Please bring your own.  You are welcome to use our mat cleaner.

  • NO HANDS ON ADJUSTMENTS - all teachers will be refraining at this time

  • WASH OR SANITIZE HANDS ON ARRIVAL - and often while visiting

We are continuing to:

  • Increase the frequency of our already frequent cleaning practices and diligently sanitize frequently touched surfaces and areas many times a day.   To sanitize, we are using BENEFECT, an industrial strength, hospital grade, non-toxic disinfectant.

  • Adjust our sign in procedures, please check-in at the front desk when you arrive for  class so that we can sign you in, instead ofdoing it yourself.
